Issue Position: COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has the potential to kill well over two hundred thousand Americans. Job losses since the outbreak of the virus have been staggering. The crisis has revealed how tenuous employment is for many workers that are essential to keeping us all going. Our collective response should not be a partisan issue. Yet, recovery from this pandemic will take longer and cost more than the White House or my opponent will tell you, and so the necessary and robust response to COVID-19 is threatened by their continued wishful thinking.

The lack of a national plan for recovery will present problems for the remainder of the year and for the next Congress. My opponent does not appear to be up to the challenge providing necessary federal response. It is time for a change.

We must learn from this pandemic, not just how to do better when the next one emerges, but in how important we all are.
